Multicultural Life at UCCS

"You belong here. You matter. We're happy you are here."

At UCCS we value inclusive diversity. We aim to provide a supportive campus community based on mutual respect, participation, and lifelong learning so students are better prepared for local and global multicultural realities. With students from all 50 states and 82 different nations, we cultivate a stronger sense of belonging by engaging with the diversity and cultures of UCCS students in an active, intentional, and ongoing way.

With over 100 events hosted annually, we believe there is something for every student to engage with in the MOSAIC department. Throughout the academic year you can find events, programs, resources, and spaces designed to engage students in the diversity of the campus. Visit our Mountain Lion Connect page for up-to-date information on events or visit us in University Center, room 110, and/or Copper House, room 9202.

Heritage, History, and Identity Months

The MOSAIC Department hosts events throughout the year that coincide with nationally and globally recognized heritage, history, and identity months. Heritage and Identity months tend to focus on celebrating culture, arts, food, language, music, dance and customs. A core purpose is to honor the community's roots and traditions. History months are focused on understanding the struggles, resilience, triumphs, traumas, and the vast number of ways the community has contributed to the broader society. Whether you are celebrating your own culture or wanting to learn more about other communities, we invite you to join us!

The events hosted by the MOSAIC department are free and open to the entire UCCS community. If you are interested in collaborating to host an event for a history, heritage, and/or identity month, contact us at mosaic@uccs.edu or call (719) 255 - 3319 or visit us in University Center, room 110.
